THE RUNAWAYS "CHERRY BOMB" LYRIC VIDEO
I was challenged to develop a lyric video, using display typography and vector illustrations, to capture the essence of a song. I selected "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways because of its bold message and iconic lyrics. I developed a color palette and determined typefaces to further encapsulate the song's ambiance and pacing.
ADAM ANT PROMO REEL
I was prompted to create a short promotional reel video, including various music samples and original footage. The most challenging element of this prompt was that I was unable to choose a musical artist; it was randomly assigned.
I was assigned Adam Ant, opening up the opportunity for me to research and recreate bright New Wave, 80s, and surreal styles. I enjoyed animating, illustrating, and photographing various elements to create a dynamic, eye-catching motion piece.
PSYCHEDELIC MOVEMENT MOTION PIECE, "CHROMATIC DREAMS"
As a part of a larger team project, I created a motion graphic to be projected in a mirrored exhibition room. Using three famous psychedelic songs ("Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - The Beatles, "All Along the Watchtower" - The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and "I Had Too Much to Dream [Last Night]" - The Electric Prunes), I created unique, captivating, and trippy visuals.
NEW ORDER "BLUE MONDAY" ANIMATION
I created a brief animation full of geometric shapes and patterns, synced to the instrumental beat of "Blue Monday" by New Order. By completing this piece, I developed a further understanding of time-based design and fell in love with Adobe After Effects.
